Many of us are experiencing the biometric tyranny imposed upon us by the IRS and Social Security office in having to identify ourselves through the ID.me system which requires an uploaded face image from your cell phone. People in our astute audience are paying attention and are writing letters (by mail and/or online) to register their complaints.
In the post Chevron reversal era, this seems like administrative OVERREACH. I would include a statement about his in these sample letters prepared by AIM cat Jay. Use this letter to inspire you to contact your (s)elected representative.
SAMPLE LETTER #1
My letter to my Congresswoman:
Representative McClain:
I was just notified by the Social Security Administration (SSA) that they will no longer let senior citizens access their online SSA account using our login-ID and password. Instead, we will be required to access the account using http://ID.me, which is a private company biometric-based identity management company. This company requires facial scans, biometric information, and lots of private info (birth, address, Social Security Number, passport/driver’s license, etc) to “identify” a person. THIS IS WRONG! I do not want to give up this information just to access the SSA account the government requires me to open to apply for, and receive benefits. The government has proven that it can not keep my personal data safe as hacking and data theft occurs all the time.
http://ID.me received much of its invested capital from FOREIGN nations and sovereign funds, and investors. Their Terms and Conditions include all kinds of objectional requirements in order to open an http://ID.me account. THIS IS WRONG.
It is up to my Representative to stop this nonsense. Allowing IRS, and now SSA, to require use of a private company is just awful. You must take action now, please.
There is no company or government safe from hacking, and http://ID.me is no different. Once they are hacked, my most private information — including my facial video scan — is lost forever, further exposing me to identify theft.
Please help. Thank you.

This is a big deal. I told you about the IRS demanding that I do this biometric system identify before accessing information on my tax return. The letter from the IRS said if I didn’t comply, they would withhold my tax refund and not process my return. So be it. I never give the government more than it steals from me so I don’t have refunds. And it’s their administrative issue, not mine, if they can’t process a tax return.
In the meantime, Jay sends me this notice that Social Security is now requiring this INVASIVE identification.
Jay writes: “Note! http://ID.me now required to access you Social Security account!!
We need to mount a full press effort to get our Reps and Senators off their asses to stop this now!!!
Join the fight!”
You can see SES bureaucrats adding this requirement as a part of their administrative overreach. Yank them back with Chevron reversal.
