Decision Making and self interest:
I would postulate that this article could have been penned with fill in the blanks for the names and special interests.
Human nature is to make decisions that will benefit the human making the decision. Therefore we have humans in positions of power, where in this conflict with instinct arises.
Let us expand upon this more. In permitting people within the decision making apparatus to accept gains from others, in any fashion that may take, be it monetarily, status, etc. They are then put into a moral dilemma when decisions arise where that conflict is present. These gains as well create the possibility of those who lack moral fortitude can be easily controlled by others. This also creates another obvious situation where those with the moral fortitude are put at a disadvantage to those without those qualities. Their ability to fund the climb up or into structural ladder of decision making is much more difficult than those willing to make allegiances to those who hold power over the purse strings.
In essence the result we now see that our power structure is filled with those without moral fortitude have risen to the top, that decisions are made in favor of the highest bidder, not made on the best interests of the matter.
So how do we get out of this mess? Obviously those who are now making the decisions within the apparatus have to be let go. However the need to prevent this from happening again has to be addressed before moving forward. In our present system, in most cases, only those who have funding are or given funding have the ability to climb the ladder into the hierarchy of control thus creating the dilemma we now see. Somehow the leveling of the playing field must be undertaken and the ability to purchase decision makers nullified. The temptation is far to great to accept conditions for agenda dollars, when the costs to compete are so high and when the competition is willing to accept pay for play.

Maybe we need a digital platform that profiles and showcases the track records of ALL government employees. A mandatory facebook page (or whatever) for all government servants that includes extensive details about them – employment history, financial history/holdings, who they hang out with, where they go and where they have been, how many properties they have, immunization records, court records, family history, and a morality score that is updated regularly. All information would be crowdsourced by non-government employees and would have to be truthful information and would be bundled up in one nice place for everyone to access and add information. Basically, they should have very little privacy as a condition for employment. Then everyone can see that all government employees are bought and paid for. Then we begin physically removing them from office. But how do you make sure it isn’t corrupted?
